PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce energy consumption required for rotation of a rudder shaft when a steering angle deviation is less than a prescribed angle.SOLUTION: A steering gear 100 includes a pump controller 91 which controls a plurality of power generating units 40, 50, 60 to rotate a rudder plate from the current steering angle θp to the target steering angle θt on the basis of a steering angle deviation θd. The power generating units 40, 50, 60 includes: at least a first power generating unit 40 maximum power of which is less than 50% of the sum of maximum power of the respective power generating units 40, 50, 60; and a second power generating unit 50 maximum power of which is the maximum power Pmax1 of the first power generating unit 40 or more. The controller 91 activates only the first power generating unit 40 when the steering angle deviation θd is less than a prescribed angle, and activates at least the second power generating unit 50 when the steering angle deviation θd is the prescribed angle or more so that the sum of the maximum power is more than the maximum power Pmax1 of the first power generating unit 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
