PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition method from a road surface sign that can highly accurately specify a location of an advancement direction of a vehicle, and can provide necessary information in a real time with respect to the vehicle or a driver.SOLUTION: An information acquisition method is configured to: set identification code for each section area 22 partitioned in an advancement direction of an outer side line 12 zonally extending in the advancement direction of a vehicle 10; provide a protrusion body within the section area 22 in an arrangement pattern corresponding to the identification code; detect the protrusion body along the advancement direction of the vehicle 10 using protrusion body detection means 32 attached to a vehicle 10 side; and acquire the identification code set to the section area 22 on the basis of arrangement information on the acquired protrusion body for each section area 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両の進行方向の位置を精度高く特定し得て、リアルタイムに必要な情報を車両又はそのドライバーに対して提供することができる路面標示からの情報取得方法を提供することを目的としてなされたものである。【解決手段】車両10の進行方向に帯状に延びる外側線12の、進行方向に区画された区画領域22ごとに識別コードを設定するとともに、識別コードに対応した配置パターンで区画領域22内に突起体を設け、車両10側に取り付けた突起体検出手段32を用いて車両10の進行方向に沿って突起体を検出し、得られた区画領域22ごとの突起体の配置情報に基づいて、区画領域22に設定された識別コードを取得する。【選択図】 図1
