PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aircraft side-of-body joint reduced in weight and manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: An aircraft structure has first and second stringers 208, each having a vertical stringer portion 209 defining a lengthwise gap. The aircraft structure may include a cruciform fitting 206 having a central rib attachment member 304 and first and second extensions extending in opposite directions from the central rib attachment member. Stringer attachment portions extending up from the first and second extensions are inserted into the lengthwise gaps of the first and second stringer portions, respectively. The rib attachment member 304 may be attached to a side-of-body rib 212.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
