PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in size and the number of assembly man hours of a belt type deceleration mechanism due to increase in the number of components even when tooth skipping countermeasures are taken.SOLUTION: An EPS 1 includes a motor 20, a rack shaft 12, and a nut 31 screwed with the rack shaft 12 via a plurality of balls. Also, the EPS 1 includes a deceleration mechanism having a drive pulley 41, a driven pulley 42, a belt 43 and an idler pulley 54 for imparting a tensile force to the belt 43. Also the EPS 1 includes a housing 16 for accommodating the motor 20, the rack shaft 12, the nut 31 and the deceleration mechanism. The housing 16 is set so that there is difference in compression rigidity with respect to the axial direction between a near end portion and a far end portion. Then, the idler pulley 54 is provided so as to come into contact with a portion of the belt 43 which is an end part in the axial direction of the housing 16 and also which is on the side that slackens at end abutting time at an end part in which the compression rigidity is higher.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
【課題】歯飛び対策を施したとしても部品点数の増加によるベルト式減速機構の大型化や組付工数の増加を抑えること。【解決手段】EPS1は、モータ20と、ラックシャフト12と、複数のボールを介してラックシャフト12と螺合するナット31とを備えている。また、EPS1は、駆動プーリ41と、従動プーリ42と、ベルト43と、ベルト43に張力を付与するアイドラプーリ54とを有する減速機構を備えている。また、EPS1は、モータ20と、ラックシャフト12と、ナット31と、減速機構とを収容するハウジング16を備えている。ハウジング16では、近端部位及び遠端部位で軸方向に対する圧縮剛性が異なるように設定されている。そして、アイドラプーリ54は、ハウジング16の軸方向の端部であり、且つ圧縮剛性が高い側の端部での端当て時に緩む側のベルト43の部分に接するように設けられている。【選択図】図5
