PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection sensor and a collision detection system for vehicles with which it is possible to detect a fault in a recording unit included in the collision detection sensor.SOLUTION: A collision detection sensor 12 including an acceleration sensor 12d includes: a recording unit 12e for recording required information; a signal processing unit 12c for recording in the recording unit 12e on the basis of the acceleration information of acceleration ac detected by the acceleration sensor 12d; and a transmission unit 12a for transmitting as signal data SD. The signal processing unit 12c records acceleration information in the recording unit 12e when the acceleration information is out of a prescribed threshold range, and records fault detection information in the recording unit 12e when the acceleration information is within the prescribed threshold range. Since the data amount of signal data SD transmitted in one session does not change, the entire data amount transmitted through a communication line L is suppressed to a small amount, and it is possible to suppress the number of communication lines L to a small number.     【課題】衝突検知センサに含まれる記録部の故障を検知できる衝突検知センサおよび車両用衝突検知システムを提供することである。【解決手段】加速度センサ12dを含む衝突検知センサ12は、所要の情報を記録する記録部12eと、加速度センサ12dで検知された加速度acの加速度情報に基づいて記録部12eに記録する信号処理部12cと、信号データSDとして送信する送信部12aとを有する。信号処理部12cは、加速度情報が所定閾値の範囲外であれば加速度情報を記録部12eに記録し、加速度情報が所定閾値の範囲内であれば故障検知情報を記録部12eに記録する。1回に送信する信号データSDのデータ量は変化しないので、通信線Lを介して伝達する全体のデータ量を少なく抑えられ、通信線Lの線数を少なく抑えることができる。また、故障検知情報によって記録部12eの故障を検知することができる。【選択図】図3
