PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a road surface undulation estimation device and a road surface undulation estimation method with which it is possible to estimate the undulations of a road surface that a vehicle travels.SOLUTION: The present invention is constituted so as to detect a regular object from the peripheral image of a vehicle acquired from a camera, convert the position on image of each regular object from the image into a real space using camera installation information and thereby calculate the detection position of each regular object, calculate each of detection intervals of detection positions adjacent to each other at each detection position, and estimate the inclination of an actual road surface relative to a road surface calculated by conversion from the image to the real space from each detection position, each of the calculated detection intervals, and the installation interval of regular objects.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両が走行する路面の起伏を推定することのできる路面起伏推定装置および路面起伏推定方法を得る。【解決手段】カメラから取得した車両周辺画像から規則物体を検出し、各規則物体の画像上での位置を、カメラ設置情報を用いて画像上から実空間上へ変換することで各規則物体の検出位置を計算し、各検出位置において隣り合う検出位置の検出間隔をそれぞれ計算し、各検出位置と、計算した各検出間隔と、規則物体の設置間隔とから、画像上から実空間上への変換計算上の路面に対する実際の路面の傾きを推定するように構成されている。【選択図】図1
