PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an excessive assisting force by a brake booster when a brake operation is started.SOLUTION: A brake booster comprises: a transformed pressure chamber; a constant pressure chamber; a piston 12 operated according to a differential pressure between the transformed pressure chamber and the constant pressure chamber; a rod 10 which is linearly moved according to operation of a brake pedal; a valve mechanism; a dust boot 16; and an air intake suppression member 20. The valve mechanism is operated by movement of the rod 10, and performs opening/closing of a passage which communicates the transformed pressure chamber and the constant pressure chamber with each other and opening/closing of a passage for introducing ambient air into the transformed pressure chamber. The dust boot 16 is so located as to cover at least a periphery of a portion on which the rod 10 and the valve mechanism are located, one end face of the dust boot is fitted to an outer peripheral surface of the rod 10, and the dust boot has an air intake hole 18 for introducing ambient air into the transformed pressure chamber at the one end face. The air intake suppression member 20 is located in or on the dust boot 16, and limits inflow of ambient air into the transformed pressure chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ブレーキ操作開始時における、ブレーキブースタによる過剰な助勢力を抑制する。【解決手段】本発明のブレーキブースタは、変圧室と、定圧室と、変圧室と定圧室との差圧に応じて作動するピストン12と、ブレーキペダルの操作に応じて直線的に移動するロッド10と、弁機構と、ダストブーツ16と、吸気抑制部材20とを備える。弁機構はロッド10の移動により作動し、変圧室と前記定圧室とを連通させる通路の開閉と、変圧室に大気を導入する通路の開閉とを行う。ダストブーツ16は、少なくともロッド10及び弁機構が設置された部分の外周部を覆うように設置され、一端面がロッド10の外周面に取り付けられると共に、一端面に、変圧室に大気を導入するための吸気穴18を有する。吸気抑制部20は、ダストブーツ16内部又はダストブーツ16に設置され、変圧室へ流入する大気の流入を制限する。【選択図】図1
