PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly detect a hand-off state of a steering wheel.SOLUTION: A steerage holding state detection device 100 includes: a detection part 110 for detecting steering torque applied to a steering wheel 10; a filtering part 132 for filtering steering torque whose frequency is larger than a predetermined value among a plurality of steering torque which the detection part 110 has detected within a predetermined time; and a determination part 133 for obtaining a statistical value indicating variation of the torque values of the plurality of steering torque after a filtering by the filtering part 132 and if the statistical value is smaller than a predetermined value, determines that it is in a hand-off state which indicates that the steering wheel 10 is not in a steerage holding state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
