PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery from being brought into a high-temperature state.SOLUTION: A cooling device of a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery (hereinafter referred to as "battery") comprises: a cooling fan for supplying a cooling air to the battery; and an ECU for controlling the cooling fan. The ECU acquires a current flowing through the battery, and uses a current square value acquired at the present time, a current square value acquired in the past, and a filter-processing constant K to calculate a battery heat generation index. When the battery heat generation index exceeds a threshold, the ECU makes an air volume of the cooling fan larger than that when the battery heat generation index is not over the threshold. When the battery SOC exceeds a predetermined value S1, the ECU changes the filter-processing constant K (makes smaller) so that a degree to which a current square value acquired at the present time is reflected by the battery heat generation index becomes larger than that when the SOC is not over the predetermined value S1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】ニッケル水素二次電池が高温状態になることを抑制する。【解決手段】ニッケル水素二次電池(以下「バッテリ」という)の冷却装置であって、バッテリに冷却風を供給するための冷却ファンと、冷却ファンを制御するECUとを備える。ECUは、バッテリを流れる電流を取得し、現在取得された電流2乗値と過去に取得された電流2乗値とフィルタ処理定数Kとを用いて電池発熱指数を算出する。ECUは、電池発熱指数がしきい値を超えている場合は超えていない場合よりも冷却ファンの風量を大きくする。ECUは、バッテリのSOCが所定値S1を超えた場合、SOCが所定値S1を超えていない場合よりも、現在取得された電流2乗値が電池発熱指数に反映される度合いが大きくなるように、フィルタ処理定数Kを変更する(小さくする)。【選択図】図3
