PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce current consumption in the fitted state of a seat belt, and to make a distinction between the fitted state of the seat belt and a state in which the seat belt is not fitted and an occupant is not detected.SOLUTION: This buckle is provided with: a pair of power terminals; an occupant detection unit that detects an occupant on a vehicle seat; and a switch that permits power to be supplied from the power terminals to the occupant detection unit, and characterized in that the occupant detection unit changes the value of a current flowing through the power terminals between the state of detecting the occupant in the unfitted state and the state of not detecting the occupant in the unfitted state, and the switch sets the current value in the fitted state lower than that in the detecting state and lower than that in the non-detecting state by inhibiting the power from being supplied from the power terminals to the occupant detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
