PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an occupant protection apparatus capable of improving the performance of expanding an airbag constituted as a single bag body in the configuration of the airbag in folded state being housed the rear side of a headrest body.SOLUTION: An occupant protection apparatus 10 includes: an airbag 30 configured as a single bag body that is inflatedly expanded by being supplied with gas and expanded in zones containing both forward and left and right sides of a head of an occupant; a boxy case body 52 that is disposed on a seat rear side of a headrest body 19 that supports the head from behind, is housed with the airbag 30 folded, is formed with a resin, and whose upper portion is opened when the airbag 30 is inflatedly expanded; and an airbag case 50 including a reaction force plate 54 that is disposed on a lower side of the case body 52, is formed with a member with higher rigidity than the case body 52, and supports the airbag 30 from the seat rear side when the airbag 30 is inflatedly expanded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】一体の袋体として構成されたエアバッグが折り畳まれた状態でヘッドレスト本体の後方側に収納された構成において、エアバッグの展開性能を向上させることができる乗員保護装置を得る。【解決手段】乗員保護装置10は、ガスの供給を受けて膨張展開されると共に、乗員の頭部の前方を含む領域及び左右両側方を含む領域に展開して前記頭部を覆う一体の袋体として構成されたエアバッグ30と、頭部を後方から支持するヘッドレスト本体19のシート後方側に設けられ、エアバッグ30が折り畳まれた状態で収納されると共に、樹脂で形成されてエアバッグ30の膨張展開時に上部が開かれる箱状のケース本体52と、ケース本体52の下部側に設けられてケース本体52よりも高剛性の部材によって形成され、エアバッグ30の膨張展開時にエアバッグ30をシート後方側から支持する反力板54とを含んで構成されたエアバッグケース50と、を有する。【選択図】図7
