PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new passenger conveyor and a control method of the passenger conveyor capable of efficiently evacuating many passengers when a disaster is caused.SOLUTION: When detecting the occurrence of a disaster, an overload determination threshold value SLab for determining an overload state of an electric motor 10 is set as a larger value than a case of normal operation, and the overload state of the electric motor 10 is determined by comparing this largely-set overload determination threshold value SLab and an actual load value. Even when the electric motor becomes the overload state when passengers concentrate on the passenger conveyor by setting the overload determination threshold value larger than the case of the normal operation when the disaster is caused, operation of the passenger conveyor can be continued long until the actual load value reaches this largely-set overload determination threshold value, so that many passengers can be efficiently evacuated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】災害発生時に多くの乗客を効率よく避難させることができる新規な乗客コンベア及び乗客コンベアの制御方法を提供することにある。【解決手段】災害発生が検出された場合に、電動機10の過負荷状態を判定する過負荷判定閾値SLabを通常運転の場合よりも大きい値とし、この大きく設定された過負荷判定閾値SLabと実際の実負荷値を比較して電動機10の過負荷状態を判定する構成とした。災害発生時に通常運転の場合よりも過負荷判定閾値を大きくすることで、乗客コンベアに乗客が集中して電動機が過負荷状態になった場合においても、実負荷値がこの大きく設定された過負荷判定閾値に達するまで乗客コンベアの運行を長く継続させることができ、多くの乗客を効率よく避難させることができるようになる。【選択図】図4
