PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate and predict the number of people staying in station precincts now or in the near future.SOLUTION: A data processing system calculates the number of people staying in station precincts where there are provided ticket gates, train's entry and exit paths by an information processing unit provided with an input device, an output device, a processor, and a storage device. Disclosed is the data processing system provided with: a number of passengers difference computation module for obtaining difference between a value a1 reflecting a first number of passengers getting on the train and entering the station precincts and a value a2 reflecting the second number of passengers who get on the train and leave the station precincts; and a number of staying people computation module for computing the number of staying people according to either a value IN reflecting the number of entering people who enter the station precincts through the ticket gates or a value OUT reflecting the number of leaving people leaving the station precincts through the ticket gates, and the difference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
