PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a clearance in which foreign substances are easy to enter, in a caterpillar-shaped sheath material.SOLUTION: A wire harness sheath material is composed of resinous caterpillar body 2, and a shutter 3 for intercepting foreign substances, and the shutter is composed of rubber capable of expanding/contracting, elastomer, soft resin, or fiber material. In the caterpillar body, a plurality of bottom walls of square-framed blocks is successively coupled through thin-wall hinge portions 13, and hollow portions of the blocks coupled with each other are made to be wire harness insertion passages. The bottom walls are on an inner peripheral side, and a space between front and rear sides of right and left side walls of the blocks adjacent in a fore-and-aft direction, and a space between front and rear sides of outer peripheral walls are opened/closed to be bent. The shutter is equipped with length which is the same as the caterpillar body, and has a C-shaped cross section in an orthogonal direction to a longitudinal direction. Both of right and left portions extend along inner surfaces of both of right and left side walls of the blocks, and center coupling portions extend along inner surfaces of outer peripheral walls of the blocks, and extend through the space between the front and rear sides of the right and left side walls of the blocks adjacent in the fore-and-aft direction, and the space between the front and rear sides of the outer peripheral walls, thereby intercepting the spaces from the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】キャタピラ型の外装材において、異物侵入しやすい隙間を無くす。【解決手段】樹脂製のキャタピラ本体2と、異物遮断用のシャッター3とからなり、シャッターは伸縮可能なゴム、エラストマー、軟質樹脂または繊維材からなる。キャタピラ本体は、複数の四角枠状のブロックの底壁が薄肉ヒンジ部13を介して順次連結されていると共に連結されたブロックの中空部がワイヤハーネス挿通路とされ、底壁が内周側となって、前後に隣接する前記ブロックの左右側壁の前後間および外周壁の前後間が開閉して屈曲可とされる。シャッターは、キャタピラ本体と同じ長さを備えると共に長さ方向と直交方向の断面形状がコ字形であり、左右両側部がブロックの左右両側壁の内面に沿うと共に中央連結部がブロックの外周壁の内面に沿い、かつ、隣接するブロックの左右両側壁の前後間および外周壁の前後間の隙間を通して延在し、隙間を外部から遮断している。【選択図】図1
