PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubbing device in which a time required for a rubbing process can be shortened.SOLUTION: A hoist rubbing device comprises: a brake drum 7 which is rotated integrally with a sheave 4 having plural rope-races 4a on which a rope for picking up a cage is wound; a lining 8 which is pressed onto the brake drum 7 thereby braking rotation of the sheave 4; a control board 14 which rotates the sheave 4 and the brake drum 7 integrally, and controls pressing of the lining 8 onto the brake drum 7 and separating the lining from the drum; and a heat exchanging part 12 which is attachable and detachable between the plural rope-races 4a and a braking surface 7a of the brake drum 7 with which the lining 8 is brought into contact.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
