PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure, for a balancing rope type elevator, a margin distance between a tension wheel and a pit floor surface without performing a truncation treatment for a balancing rope which requires time.SOLUTION: A balancing rope type elevator 10 comprises: a main rope 24 driven to be sent in a hoistway 12; a car 20 suspended and connected to one end side of the main rope 24; a counterweight 22 suspended and connected to the other end side of the main rope 24; a balancing rope 30 connected to a lower end side of the car and a lower end side of the counterweight, and balancing the car 20-side mass of the main rope 24 and the counterweight 22-side mass with each other; a tension wheel 60 suspended from a rope part formed at a lower end of the balancing rope 30; a take-up drum provided at a car-side end of the balancing rope 30 and capable of rotating in one take-up direction of the balancing rope 30; and a take-up motor driving and rotating the take-up drum.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】つり合いロープ式エレベータにおいて、時間を要するつり合いロープの切り詰め処理を行うことなく、張車とピット床面との間の余裕距離を確保することである。【解決手段】つり合いロープ式エレベータ10は、昇降路12内を送り駆動される主ロープ24と、主ロープ24の一端側に吊下げ接続された乗りかご20と、主ロープ24の他端側に吊り下げ接続されたカウンタ錘22と、乗りかごの下端側とカウンタ錘の下端側とに接続され、主ロープ24の乗りかご20側質量とカウンタ錘22側質量とをつり合わせるつり合いロープ30と、つり合いロープ30の下端に形成されたループ部に懸架される張車60と、つり合いロープ30の乗りかご側の端部に設けられ、つり合いロープ30の巻取方向への一方向回転が可能な巻取ドラムと、巻取ドラムを回転駆動する巻取モータと、を備える。【選択図】図1
