PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce internal heat generation by decreasing an opening angle of a constant velocity joint by elongating a length of a drive shaft when using the cross-groove type constant velocity joint as a constant velocity joint of the drive shaft of a drive unit for a vehicle.SOLUTION: A drive unit for a vehicle comprises a fixing member 30 having a fixed cylinder part 30a fixed to an outside diameter part of an output shaft 25L which is withdrawn from an opening part of a casing 20bL, and a cup part 30c which extends from an end part of the fixed cylinder part 30a at an outboard side to the outboard side, and fixes an outside diameter face of an outside joint member 40 of a constant velocity joint 15a to an internal peripheral face. A length of the drive shaft 15 is elongated by inserting the fixed cylinder part 30a of the fixing member 30 into the opening part of a casing so that an outside diameter face of the fixed cylinder part 30a of the fixing member 30 and an inside diameter face of the opening part of the casing 20bL are overlapped on each other in the axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
【課題】車両用駆動装置のドライブシャフトの等速ジョイントとして、クロスグルーブ型の等速ジョイントを使用する場合に、ドライブシャフトの長さを長くすることにより、等速ジョイントの作動角を小さくして内部発熱を低減する。【解決手段】ケーシング20bLの開口部から引出される出力軸25Lの外径部に固定される固定筒部30aと、固定筒部30aのアウトボード側の端部からアウトボード側に延び、内周面に等速ジョイント15aの外側継手部材40の外径面を固定するカップ部30cとを有する固定部材30を設け、固定部材30の固定筒部30aの外径面とケーシング20bLの開口部の内径面とが軸方向に重なるように、固定部材30の固定筒部30aをケーシングの開口部内に挿入することにより、ドライブシャフト15の長さを長くした。【選択図】図6
