PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a limited slip differential of a four wheel drive vehicle, which eliminates the need to serrate or spline an axle shaft, thus enabling reduction in the cost of processing.SOLUTION: The limited slip differential of a four wheel drive vehicle includes: a two-way clutch 30 for switching between four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive by engaging/disengaging a side gear 18b of a differential 9 with/from an axle shaft 11b; and a dog clutch 50 for differential lock, which connects/disconnects the side gear to/from a differential case with a dog clutch member 51 movable in an axial direction of the axle shaft. The dog clutch member is disposed at a portion across which an opening end of an outer ring 31 of the two-way clutch is opposed to the differential, and the dog clutch member is held so as not to rotate relative to the differential case, and so as to be axially slidable. The dog clutch member and the outer ring of the two-way clutch have protrusions 53 and recesses 55 respectively, so that the protrusion and the recess are engageable with/disengageable from each other. Thus, the dog clutch is formed between the dog clutch member and the outer ring, eliminating the need to transmit torque from the dog clutch member to the axle shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】アクスルシャフトへのセレーションやスプラインの加工を不要とし、加工コストの低減を図ることができる四輪駆動車の差動制限装置を提供することである。【解決手段】ディファレンシャル9のサイドギヤ18bとアクスルシャフト11bの締結、解除により四輪駆動と二輪駆動の切換えを行う二方向クラッチ30と、アクスルシャフトの軸方向に移動可能なドグクラッチ部材51によってサイドギヤをデフケースに結合、解除するデフロック用のドグクラッチ50とを設ける。二方向クラッチを外輪31の開口端とディファレンシャルの対向部間にドグクラッチ部材を配置し、ドグクラッチ部材をデフケースに対して回り止めし、かつ、軸方向にスライド自在とし、ドグクラッチ部材と二方向クラッチの外輪の相互間に係脱可能な凸部53と凹部55を設けて外輪との間でドグクラッチを形成し、ドグクラッチ部材からアクスルシャフトへのトルク伝達を不要とする。【選択図】図2
