PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air flow generator capable of suppressing electric field concentration near the top of both ends of columnar electrodes inside a dielectric.SOLUTION: An air flow generator comprises: a dielectric; a first columnar electrode arranged inside the dielectric; and a second columnar electrode arranged on a surface or near the surface of the dielectric in such a manner as to separate from the first electrode and its longer direction may be parallel to the longer direction of the first columnar electrode. The first columnar electrode includes: a high-electric resistance part, with a relatively high electric resistance value, which is provided near the top of both ends; and a low-electric resistance part, with a relatively low electric resistance value, which is provided further inner side in the longer direction of the first columnar electrode than the high-electrical resistance part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
