PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft coupling mechanism for electric power steering device which can avoid collision in a radial direction between a rotary shaft and a rotation transmission member, and which can suppress occurrence of abnormal noise which imparts an uncomfortable steering feeling to an operator.SOLUTION: A shaft coupling mechanism 1 for an electric power steering device includes: a coupling base body 3 connected to a rotary shaft 2; a coupling base body 5 connected to a rotary shaft 4; a rigid rotation transmission member 6 arranged between the rotary shaft 2 and the rotary shaft 4 via both coupling base bodies 3 and 5, and for transmitting the rotation in a direction R around a shaft center around a shaft center line O of the rotary shaft 2 to the rotary shaft 4; a pair of elastic members 7 and 8 for sandwiching the rotation transmission member 6 in the axial direction X and overlapped with the rotation transmission member 6 in the axial direction X; and connection means 9 for mutually connecting the elastic members 7 and 8 so as to prohibit mutual separation of the elastic members 7 and 8 in the axial direction X.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】回転軸と回転伝達部材との径方向の衝突を回避でき、運転者に不快な操舵感覚を与える異音の発生を抑止できる電動式パワーステアリング装置用の軸連結機構を提供すること。【解決手段】電動式パワーステアリング装置用の軸連結機構1は、回転軸2に連結された連結基体3と、回転軸4に連結された連結基体5と、両連結基体3及び5を介して回転軸2と回転軸4との間に配されていると共に回転軸2の軸心線Oを中心とした軸心周りの方向Rの回転を回転軸4に伝達する剛性の回転伝達部材6と、回転伝達部材6を軸方向Xにおいて挟んで当該回転伝達部材6に軸方向Xにおいて重ね合わされた一対の弾性部材7及び8と、弾性部材7及び8の軸方向Xの相互の離反を禁止するように、弾性部材7及び8を相互に結合する結合手段9とを具備している。【選択図】図1
