PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen transporting cord having a function for preferentially taking in oxygen to be transported, and a pneumatic tire with use of the oxygen transporting cord for suppressing internal pressure reduction to a minimum, capable of inhibiting the oxidation deterioration of a belt layer.SOLUTION: An oxygen transporting cord 20 has a structure including a cord body 21 made of twisted organic fiber multifilament yarn, the surface of which is coated with a polyimide layer 22.
