PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a surface of drain water accumulated in a drain pan of an air conditioner for a railway vehicle ripples heavily due to acceleration/deceleration and vibration while the vehicle is travelling, a water level at a suction port of a water pump moves up and down, and the water pump sucks air so that the performance of the water pump deteriorates drastically, thereby wastefully consuming electric power, and reducing the life of the water pump.SOLUTION: An air conditioner for a railway vehicle includes: a drain pan for accumulating drain water generated in an indoor heat exchanger; a water pump for sucking the drain water accumulated in the drain pan; a sprinkling device consisting of a water supply valve, a water supply pipe, and a nozzle for sprinkling the drain water sucked by the water pump to an outdoor heat exchanger; a water level switch for detecting an upper limit water level of the drain water accumulated in the drain pan; a drain pipe for discharging the drain water that has risen and exceeded the upper limit water level, to the outside; and a pressure switch for detecting discharging pressure of the water pump at an inlet side of the water supply valve.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】鉄道車両用空調装置のドレンパンに滞留するドレン水の水面が、車両走行時の加減速や振動により大きく波打つと、水ポンプの吸い込み口の水位が上下動して空気を吸い込むようになるため、水ポンプの性能が大幅に低下して無駄に電力を消費し、水ポンプの寿命を低下させる。【解決手段】室内熱交換器で生じるドレン水を溜めるドレンパンと、ドレンパンに滞留するドレン水を吸水する水ポンプと、水ポンプが吸水したドレン水を室外熱交換器に散布するための、給水弁、給水管及びノズルから成る散布装置と、ドレンパンに滞留するドレン水の上限水位を検知する水位スイッチと、この上限水位を超過して上昇したドレン水を外部に排水する排水管と、給水弁の入り口側に水ポンプの吐出圧力を検知する圧力スイッチを備える。【選択図】図1
