PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably detect the presence/absence of air in a fluid pressure brake system having a back face fluid pressure control device which is connected to a back face chamber in the rearward of a pressurization piston of a master cylinder.SOLUTION: When an air presence/absence detection signal is outputted, fluid pressure is accumulated in an accumulator (S1), a holding valve is brought into a closed state (S2), and the presence/absence of air in an upstream-side part including a back face fluid pressure control device is detected on the basis of a relationship between a control time of an input chamber and servo pressure (S3). Next, the holding valve is brought into an open state (S6), and the presence/absence of air in a downstream-side part including a pressurization chamber is detected on the basis of a relationship between a stroke of a brake pedal and the serve pressure (S7). As above, since the presence/absence of the air is detected in each of the upstream side part and the downstream side part, when the presence of the air is detected, a portion in which the air exists can be specified.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】マスタシリンダの加圧ピストンの後方の背面室に接続された背面液圧制御装置を備えた液圧ブレーキシステムのエアの有無を良好に検出可能とする。【解決手段】エア有無検出指示が出されると、アキュムレータに液圧が蓄えられて(S1)、保持弁が閉状態とされて(S2)、入力室の制御時間とサーボ圧との関係に基づいて背面液圧制御装置を含む上流側部のエアの有無が検出される(S3)。次に、保持弁が開状態とされて(S6)、ブレーキペダルのストロークとサーボ圧との関係に基づいて加圧室を含む下流側部のエアの有無が検出される(S7)。このように、上流側部と下流側部とに分けて、エアの有無が検出されるため、エアの有と検出された場合に、そのエアが有る部分を特定することができる。【選択図】図3
