PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay device capable of reliably performing the simultaneous transmission of data via each of a plurality of communication lines, and a communication system comprising the relay device.SOLUTION: Each of six communication devices 30, 31, 40, 41, 50 and 51 is connected with one of N communication lines 3, 4 and 5, where N=3, and transmits and receives a message via one of the communication lines 3, 4 and 5. A relay device 2 is connected with each of the N communication lines 3, 4 and 5, and transmits a message to the communication devices 30, 31, 40, 41, 50 and 51. The relay device 2, for example, transmits a message indicating transmission prohibition to four communication devices 40, 41, 50 and 51 connected with two communication lines 4 and 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
