PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric parking brake capable of accurately estimating the remaining amount of a friction material even in the case of structure which does not detect a rotational phase of an output shaft of a motor.SOLUTION: In an electric parking brake 10, when a nut member 33 moves in an advancement direction by drive of a motor 31, a friction material 15 is pressed to a brake disk 11. On the other hand, when the nut member 33 moves in a retraction direction, the friction material 15 moves in a direction leaving from the brake disk 11. Then, in the case that a position of the nut member 33 when movement of the nut member 33 in a further retraction direction is restricted is considered as a first position, and a position located in an advancement direction side as the remaining amount of the friction material 15 is less is considered as a second position, in the electric parking brake 10, remaining amount estimation processing for estimating the remaining amount of the friction material 15 is executed as time required for movement of the nut member 33 from one position to the other position is longer of the first position and the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】モータの出力軸の回転位相を検出しない構成であっても、摩擦材の残量を精度良く推定することができる電動駐車制動装置を提供する。【解決手段】電動駐車制動装置10では、モータ31の駆動によってナット部材33が前進方向に移動すると、摩擦材15がブレーキディスク11に押し付けられる。一方、ナット部材33が後退方向に移動すると、摩擦材15がブレーキディスク11から離れる方向に移動する。そして、ナット部材33の更なる後退方向への移動が規制されているときのナット部材33の位置を第1の位置とし、摩擦材15の残量が少ないほど前進方向側に位置する位置を第2の位置とした場合、電動駐車制動装置10では、第1の位置及び第2の位置のうち、一方の位置から他方の位置までのナット部材33の移動に要する時間が長いほど、摩擦材15の残量を推定する残量推定処理が実施される。【選択図】図1
