PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smart entry system capable of more securely performing auto locking.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle device (2) comprises: on-vehicle device transmission units (23, 24) for transmitting a request signal to a portable apparatus (3); an on-vehicle device reception unit (25) for receiving a response signal from the portable apparatus, the response signal including a measurement value of reception signal strength of the request signal; an estimation unit (21) for estimating the portable apparatus's position from the measurement value; and an output unit (26) for outputting a control instruction that, on the basis of positional relation between a vehicle surrounding area formed around a vehicle (10) and the portable apparatus, makes a lock mechanism (50) of a door of the vehicle be into a locked state when a predetermined lock condition has been established. The portable apparatus comprises: a portable apparatus reception unit (33) for receiving the request signal from the on-vehicle device; a measurement unit (34) for measuring the reception signal strength of the request signal; and a portable apparatus transmission unit (35) for transmitting the response signal to the on-vehicle device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
