PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compatible all the suppression of the lowering of a cooling water temperature caused by the natural convection of cooling water, the avoidance of the ebullition of the cooling water, and the promotion of the effective warmup of a transmission at a stop of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A cooling device of an internal combustion engine comprises a cooling water circuit 18 having a radiator circuit 20, a heater circuit 22 and a device circuit 24, and a rotary selector valve 42. At a stop of the engine, when there is an ebullition avoidance requirement of cooling water, heat radiation control is performed, and when there is no ebullition avoidance requirement, heat insulation control is performed when there is no requirement for utilizing either or both of the device circuit 24 and the heater circuit 22. When an oil temperature of a transmission is lower than a prescribed determination value when there is no ebullition avoidance requirement at the stop of the engine, it is determined that there is a water conduction requirement at the device circuit 24, a rotation angle of the rotary selector valve 42 is controlled to a range C or a range E. The determination value is set so as to become high as a temperature of the cooling water is high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】内燃機関の停止時に、冷却水の自然対流による冷却水温度の低下抑制、冷却水の沸騰回避、および、トランスミッションの有効な暖機促進を両立させられるようにする。【解決手段】ラジエータ回路20とヒータ回路22とデバイス回路24を有する冷却水回路18とロータリ切替弁42とを備える。エンジン停止時には、冷却水の沸騰回避要求がある場合には放熱制御が実行され、沸騰回避要求がない場合においてデバイス回路24およびヒータ回路22の何れか一方もしくは双方を利用する要求がない場合には保温制御が実行される。また、エンジン停止時に沸騰回避要求がない場合においてトランスミッションのオイル温度が所定の判定値よりも低いときにはデバイス回路24に冷却水の通水要求があると判断して、ロータリ切替弁42の回転角度が範囲Cもしくは範囲Eに制御される。上記判定値は、冷却水温度が高いほど高くなるように設定されている。【選択図】図3
