PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for achieving a constant travel distance in an electric vehicle over a multi-year period (e.g., 5, 8, 10 years), where the preset travel distance corresponds to a percentage of the travel distance that is achievable with the initial battery pack capacity.SOLUTION: The method comprises, prior to each charge cycle, first determining the current battery pack capacity and then determining a set of optimized charging parameters on the basis of the current battery pack capacity and the preset travel distance.
