PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for tracking a moving object on an image that extracts a moving object on an image input from a camera, and tracks the movement on the image, and that can appropriately determine timing to stop a process of predicting the position of a backside object in disappearance in order to accurately determine if the moving object is the same as the backside object when a certain moving object (backside object) disappears hidden by another moving object (front object) and then a new moving object appears.SOLUTION: A device stops a process of predicting the position of a backside object in disappearance when overlapping of an area the backside object occupied on an image right before the disappearance with an area a front object occupies on the image at present dissolves.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】カメラから入力された画像に写された移動物体を抽出し、画像上の移動を追跡する画像上の移動物体追跡装置であって、ある移動物体(後方物体)が他の移動物体(前方物体)の陰に隠れて消失し、その後、新たな移動物体が出現したときにその移動物体が後方物体と同一であるか否かを正確に判定するため、消失中の後方物体の位置を予測する処理を停止するタイミングを適切に決定できる画像上の移動物体追跡装置を提供すること。【解決手段】後方物体が消失する直前に画像上を占めていた領域と、現時点の前方物体が画像上を占める領域と、の重複が無くなったとき、消失中の後方物体の位置を予測する処理を停止する。【選択図】図3
