PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route information provision device and a route information provision method with which it is possible to provide such information on the basis of the magnitude of the risk of accident occurrence at dangerous places down a traveling route that would contribute to appropriate traveling, with the risk of accident occurrence taken into consideration.SOLUTION: A route information provision device 100 acquires speed-risk relationship data indicating relationship between a vehicle speed and an accident occurrence risk indicating the degree of risk of the vehicle causing an accident in a section that constitutes a travel route, and a vehicle speed on the travel route or a required time needed for traveling down the travel route as a condition value. The route information provision device 100 calculates a total risk that is the sum total of accident occurrence risks per section of travel route that correspond to the case where the vehicle travels down the travel route at a prescribed speed on the basis of the acquired speed-risk relationship data and condition value, and produces an output based on the calculated total risk.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】走行経路上の危険箇所における事故発生リスクの大きさに基づいて、当該事故発生リスクを考慮した適切な走行に寄与する情報を提供できる経路情報提供装置及び経路情報提供方法を提供する。【解決手段】経路情報提供装置100は、車両の速度と、当該車両が走行経路を構成する区間において事故を起こす危険度を示す事故発生リスクとの関係を示す速度・リスク関係データ、及び当該走行経路における車両の速度または走行経路の走行に必要な所要時間を条件値として取得する。また、経路情報提供装置100は、取得した速度・リスク関係データ及び条件値に基づいて、車両が当該走行経路を所定速度で走行した場合に対応する走行経路の区間ごとの事故発生リスクの合計である合計リスクを演算し、演算した合計リスクに基づく出力を行う。【選択図】図2
