PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a degree of freedom of design of a part for operating a ratchet passage engaging-disengaging mechanism 33 in a switching system, to improve a degree of freedom of its installation place, to simplify a power release mechanism of a latch device for a vehicle trunk lid, and to shorten operation time.SOLUTION: A vehicle door latch device comprises a latch unit 20 for holding a vehicle door 11 in a door closing state, a power release mechanism 31 capable of opening the vehicle door 11 by releasing the latch unit 20, and an engaging-disengaging mechanism 33 provided in a passage for connecting the power release mechanism 31 and the latch unit 20 and switching to a connection state and a cutoff state. A lever 56 for switching the engaging-disengaging mechanism 33 to the cutoff state from the connection state, is constituted so as to be connectable to both of a full opening position holder 21 and manual operation engaging-disengaging operation parts 60 and 60A for operating when the vehicle door 11 reaches a full opening position by a door opening slide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】ラチェット経路係脱機構33を切替作動させる部品の設計の自由度を向上させ、また、その設置場所の自由度を向上させる。車両トランクリッド用ラッチ装置のパワーリリース機構の簡素化と作動時間の短縮。【解決手段】車両ドアラッチ装置は、車両ドア11を閉扉状態に保持するラッチユニット20と、前記ラッチユニット20を解放して前記車両ドア11を開扉可能にするパワーリリース機構31と、前記パワーリリース機構31と前記ラッチユニット20とを連結する経路中に設けられ接続状態と切断状態とに切り替わる係脱機構33とを有する。前記係脱機構33を前記接続状態から前記切断状態に切り替えるレバー56は前記車両ドア11が開扉スライドにより全開位置に至ると作動する全開位置ホルダー21および手動操作用係脱作動部60、60Aの双方に接続可能に構成する。【選択図】図4
