PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic accident automatic recording device comprising a signal state detector that accurately detects the lighting state of a signal light unit.SOLUTION: A traffic accident automatic recording device comprises a signal state detector (50) for generating signal lighting actual data from a current detection value of current flowing through a signal light unit. The device includes: an amplifier unit (51) for amplifying the current detection value; generation units (52, 53) for generating a pulse signal corresponding to the peak of a common current waveform; a lighting determination unit (54) that reads current flowing through the signal light unit at the timing of the pulse signal and distinguishes a lighting state and a lights-out state by comparing the reading with a threshold value; a display unit (55) for putting a light on or off depending on a result distinguished by the lighting determination unit; and a setting value control unit (57) that receives an amplification rate set by a recording control unit by an operator who has determined that the display state by the display unit does not accord with the actual lighting state of the signal lighting unit, and updates the amplification rate used by the amplifier unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
