PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road gradient estimation device and a method of estimating road gradient that can prevent an erroneous estimation of an estimation value of a road gradient except in a case where a vehicle advances forward.SOLUTION: Determination means 37 is provided for determining a connection-disconnection state of a power connection-disconnection device 17 and a transmission state of a change gear 18. If by the determination means 37, the power connection-disconnection device 17 is determined to connect power transmission from an engine 16 and the change gear 18 is determined to change the transmitted power and to output power advancing a vehicle 10 to an output shaft 19, an estimation value θz of a road gradient is set to an estimation gradient θx, or a correction gradient θy based on the estimation gradient θx, and if determined otherwise, an estimation by gradient estimation means 35 is prohibited, and the estimation value θz of the road gradient is configured to be set to a predetermined set value θ0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両が前進する以外の場合での道路勾配の推定値の誤推定を防止できる道路勾配推定装置及び道路勾配推定方法を提供する。【解決手段】動力断接装置17の断接状態と、変速機18の変速状態と、を判定する判定手段37を備え、その判定手段37により動力断接装置17がエンジン16からの動力の伝達を接続し、且つ変速機18が伝達された動力を変換して車両10を前進させる動力を出力軸19に出力すると判定した場合には、道路勾配の推定値θzを推定勾配θx、あるいは推定勾配θxに基づいた補正勾配θyとし、それ以外の場合には、勾配推定手段35による推定を禁止して、道路勾配の推定値θzを予め定められた設定値θ0にするように構成される。【選択図】図1
