PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a wheel drive device, which transmits rotation of an electric motor to wheels by reducing a rotation speed through a speed reduction mechanism, to stably perform power regeneration.SOLUTION: A wheel drive device has a clutch 5 which is installed between a planetary gear (speed reduction) mechanism 4 to reduce a rotation speed of an electric motor 3 and a hub 2 to transmit rotation output by the planetary gear mechanism 4 to wheels A. When input torque is applied from the electric motor 3 to the clutch 5 through the planetary gear mechanism 4, the rotation is transmitted to an inner ring 14 with engagement between the inner ring 14 and an outer ring 15 of the clutch 5 released. When the wheels A are driven with the hub 2 integrally rotated with the inner ring 14 and reverse input torque is applied from the wheels A to the inner ring 14 of the clutch 5 through the hub 2, the rotation of the outer ring 15 engaged with the inner ring 14 of the clutch 5 is transmitted to a rotor 22 of a generator 6 without the planetary gear mechanism 4. Thus, the wheel drive device can stably perform power regeneration even when a speed reduction ratio of the planetary gear mechanism 4 is large.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】電動モータの回転を減速機構で減速して車輪に伝達する車輪駆動装置において、安定した電力回生動作が得られるようにする。【解決手段】電動モータ3の回転を減速する遊星歯車機構(減速機構)4と、遊星歯車機構4から出力される回転を車輪Aに伝達するハブ2との間にクラッチ5を設け、電動モータ3から遊星歯車機構4を介してクラッチ5に入力トルクが加えられたときは、クラッチ5の内輪14と外輪15とのロックが解除された状態で、内輪14に回転が伝達され、ハブ2が内輪14と一体に回転して車輪Aを駆動し、車輪Aからハブ2を介してクラッチ5の内輪14に逆入力トルクが加えられたときには、クラッチ5の内輪14とロックした外輪15の回転が遊星歯車機構4を介さずに発電機6のロータ22に伝達され、遊星歯車機構4の減速比が大きくても安定して電力回生が行えるようにしたのである。【選択図】図1
