PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means that inhibits combustion energy from being wasted in a case where deceleration-time fuel cut is prohibited.SOLUTION: A traveling control unit of a vehicle includes fuel cut execution means 54 that executes cut of fuel feed to an engine when a vehicle meets a predetermined deceleration condition, fuel cut prohibition means 56 that prohibits fuel feed cut when the temperature of an exhaust system catalyst exceeds a predetermined value, and deceleration means 38 that decelerates the vehicle. The traveling control unit 10 of a vehicle further includes fault presence determination means 34 that determines presence or absence of a traveling fault of the vehicle on the basis of sense information concerning a situation occurring ahead of a vehicle in a traveling direction. Even when execution of fuel feed cut is prohibited by the fuel cut prohibition means 56, if the fault presence determination means 34 determines absence of the traveling fault of the vehicle 1, the deceleration means 38 is not allowed to perform deceleration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】減速時燃料カットが禁止される場合において、燃焼エネルギーを無駄に消費してしまうことを抑制する手段を提供する。【解決手段】車両が所定の減速条件を満たす場合にエンジンへの燃料供給カットを実行させる燃料カット実行手段54と、排気系触媒の温度が所定値を超えた場合に燃料供給カットを禁止する燃料カット禁止手段56と、車両を減速させる減速手段38と、を備える車両の走行制御装置である。車両の走行制御装置10は、車両の走行方向前方の状況の検知情報から車両の走行の障害の有無を判定する障害有無判定手段34を備え、燃料供給カットの実行が燃料カット禁止手段56によって禁止された場合であっても障害有無判定手段34が車両1の走行の障害が無いと判定した場合には減速手段38による減速を行わせない。【選択図】図2
