PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving entity recognition method capable of accurately sensing an object-of-sensing vehicle alone by separating another vehicle or an obstacle such as a utility pole from the object-of-sensing vehicle even when the object-of-sensing vehicle approaches the other vehicle or obstacle such as the utility pole, a moving entity recognition system, and entity recognition equipment.SOLUTION: The method includes an adjoining surface determination step of determining presence or absence of two adjoining surfaces among surfaces that are not excluded at a road surface exclusion step, an adjoining surface angle determination step of, if the two adjoining surfaces are determined to be present at the adjoining surface determination step, determining an angle at which the two adjoining surfaces meet, and an object-of-sensing vehicle identification step of, if the angle determined at the adjoining surface angle determination step falls below a threshold, determining that the two surfaces are included in surfaces constituting an object-of-sensing vehicle, and of, if the angle determined at the adjoining surface angle determination step is equal to or larger than the threshold, determining that one of the two surfaces is not included in the surfaces constituting the object-of-sensing vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
