PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost without causing an increase of the number of part items and an increase of man-hours when adjusting a dimension variation of an output rod in an axial direction, in a negative pressure booster in which a rear end of the output rod is inserted into a recess of a front end of a valve cylinder with an elastic body interposed between the valve cylinder and itself, and a valve cylinder return spring is retractably arranged between a retainer abutting on a front end face of the valve cylinder and a front shell half-body.SOLUTION: An output rod 49 integrally has: a shaft part 49a; a piston abutment part 49b of the shaft part 49a at a front end; and a thickness adjusting part 49c which hangs out to the outside of a radial direction from a rear end of the shaft part 49a while being inserted into a penetration hole 52 of a front shell half body 9, and can adjust a thickness in an axial direction by processing. A retainer 50 can be inserted into a recess 46 of the thickness adjusting part 49c in an abutment state that the retainer 50 abuts on a front end face of the valve cylinder 22, is engaged with the thickness adjusting part 49c after the insertion, and prohibited in release from the front end of the valve cylinder 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】出力ロッドの後端部が、弾性体を弁筒との間に介在させて弁筒の前端部の凹部内に挿入され、弁筒の前端面に当接するリテーナおよび前部シェル半体間に弁筒戻しばねが縮設される負圧ブースタにおいて、出力ロッドの軸方向の寸法ばらつきを調節するにあたって部品点数の増大や加工工数の増加を招かないようにしてコスト低減を図る。【解決手段】出力ロッド49は、軸部49aと、軸部49aの前端部のピストン当接部49bと、前部シェル半体9の挿入孔52への挿入を可能としつつ軸部49aの後端から半径方向外方に張り出すとともに加工による軸方向厚みの調節を可能とした厚み調節部49cとを一体に有し、リテーナ50が、弁筒22の前端面への該リテーナ50の当接状態で厚み調節部49cの凹部46への挿入を可能とするとともにその挿入後に厚み調節部49cに係合して弁筒22の前端部からの離脱を阻止可能として形成される。【選択図】 図2
