PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power conversion system for a railway vehicle having a structure which reduces noise level leaking to a vehicle side surface side without reducing the quantity of cooling air.SOLUTION: An electric power conversion system includes: a blower which takes cooling air from an intake port provided on a vehicle side surface of the electric power conversion system for a vehicle; and a dustproof filter which is provided in the intake port and prevents dust from entering into the blower. In the electric power conversion system, a semiconductor element forming a power conversion circuit is cooled by the cooling air taken from the intake port. A sound insulation material having an opening part in a part thereof is installed between the blower and the dustproof filter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
