PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve precision and speed of gear shifting in a derailleur of a bicycle gearshift.SOLUTION: A method is for electronically controlling a bicycle gearshift 1 that, in a coaxial toothed wheel RD assembly of the gearshift 1, comprises a support unit 3 installed to a bicycle frame and a mobile unit 4 comprising a chain guide. The method comprises: a step of moving the mobile unit with respect to the support unit to impart to the chain guide a primary displacement in the axial direction with respect to the axis Z of the toothed wheel assembly; and a step of moving the mobile unit with respect to the support unit to impart to the chain guide a secondary displacement in the radial direction with respect to the axis of the toothed wheel assembly. The step of imparting the secondary displacement to the chain guide is carried out independently of the step of imparting the primary displacement to the chain guide in the axial direction .SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
