PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately determine whether a failure occurs to an exhaust gas recirculation device while reducing a reduction in the charge rate of a battery.SOLUTION: A failure determination device is provided in a hybrid vehicle which comprises an engine 2 mounted in the vehicle and provided with an EGR passage 42, an EGR valve 43 opening/closing the EGR passage 42, a motor-generator driven by the engine 2 to generate electric power, and a drive motor driving drive wheels with electric power supplied from a drive battery mounted in the vehicle and which can select a first travel mode for driving the drive wheels by a drive motor and traveling while the motor-generator is driven at a predetermined power generation load by the engine 2 to generate the electric power, the failure determination device comprises: an intake pressure sensor 44 which detects an intake pressure of the engine 2, and an engine control unit 22 determines whether a failure occurs to the EGR valve 43 on the basis of a change in a detection value of the intake pressure sensor 44 when the EGR valve 43 is controlled to open/close the EGR passage in a state where a power generation load of the motor generator is made lower than the predetermined power generation load in the first travel mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】バッテリの充電率低下低減しつつ、排気還流装置の故障判定を容易に精度よく行う。【解決手段】車両に搭載されEGR通路42を備えたエンジン2と、EGR通路42を開閉するEGRバルブ43と、エンジン2により駆動されて発電する発電機と、車両に搭載された駆動用バッテリから供給される電力で駆動輪を駆動する駆動用モータと、を具備し、エンジン2により発電機を所定の発電負荷で駆動して発電しながら、駆動用モータにより駆動輪を駆動して走行する第1の走行モードが選択可能なハイブリッド車に備えられた故障判定装置であって、エンジン2の吸気圧を検出する吸気圧センサ44を備え、エンジンコントロールユニット22は、第1の走行モードにおいてモータジェネレータの発電負荷を所定の発電負荷よりも低下させた状態で、EGRバルブ43を開閉制御した際の吸気圧センサ44の検出値の変化に基づいてEGRバルブ43の故障を判定する。【選択図】図2
