PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a probability of occurrence of an error in road guidance.SOLUTION: A navigation system 1 includes a memory unit 2 and an arithmetic unit 3. The memory unit 2 stores map information 2a. The arithmetic unit 3 acquires a detected position 21 that is a detected current position, designates position candidates 31 and 32 on roads around the detected position 21 on the basis of the map information 2a, calculates routes 31a and 32a, which are routes to a destination 42, on the basis of the position candidates 31 and 32, extracts a landmark 43, which is used for guidance, from the map information 2a, determines a landmark direction, which is a direction of the landmark 43 in which an advancing direction of an associated route candidate out of the routes 31a and 32a extends, on the basis of each of the position candidates 31 and 32. On the basis of a result of the comparison of the determined landmark direction for each of the position candidates 31 and 32, either guide information 11 or guide information 12 is selectively produced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】道案内の間違いの発生確率を低減すること。【解決手段】ナビゲーション装置1は、記憶部2と演算部3を有する。記憶部2は、地図情報2aを記憶する。演算部3は、現在位置を検出した検出位置21を取得し、地図情報2aに基づいて、検出位置21の周囲の道路上に位置候補31,32を設定し、位置候補31,32から目的地42までの経路をそれぞれ示す経路31a,32aを算出し、地図情報2aから、案内に使用するランドマーク43を抽出し、位置候補31,32のそれぞれから、経路31a,32aのうちの対応する経路候補の進行方向を向いたときのランドマーク43の方向を示すランドマーク方向を判定し、位置候補31,32のそれぞれについて判定されたランドマーク方向の比較結果に基づいて、案内情報11と案内情報12のいずれかを選択的に生成する。【選択図】図1
