PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a stabilizer capable of producing a stabilizer having satisfactory mechanical strength and toughness in a compact production line at high productivity.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a stabilizer having: a molding step where a bar steel having a composition containing, by mass, 0.15 to 0.39% C, 0.05 to 0.40% Si, 0.50 to 1.70% Mn and 0.0005 to 0.03% B as essential elements, in which the content of P is 0.040% or lower and the content of S is controlled to 0.40% or lower, containing at least one or more kinds of elements selected from Ni, Cr, Cu, Mo, V, Ti, Nb, Al, N, Ca and Pb in the range of 1.20% or lower, respectively, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is subjected to a molding step of being bent so as to be a product shape; and a quenching step where the bar steel subjected to the bending is subjected to quenching with a medium having a thermal conductivity equal to water or close to water, and a stabilizer is produced without performing tempering to the bar steel subjected to the quenching.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】良好な機械的強度と靭性とを有するスタビライザを、コンパクトな生産ラインで生産性高く製造できるスタビライザの製造方法の提供。【解決手段】スタビライザの製造方法は、C:0.15〜0.39質量%、Si:0.05〜0.40%、Mn:0.50〜1.70%、B:0.0005〜0.03を必須元素として含有し、P:0.040%以下、S:0.40%以下で、Ni、Cr、Cu、Mo、V、Ti、Nb、Al、N、Ca又はPbから選択される一種以上の元素を各々1.20%以下の範囲で含有し、残部がFeと不可避的不純物からなる棒鋼材に曲げ加工を施して製品形状に成形する成形工程と、曲げ加工が施された前記棒鋼材に水と同等以上又は水に近い熱伝達率を有する媒体による焼入れを施す焼入れ工程とを含み、前記焼入れが施された前記棒鋼材に焼戻しを施すこと無くスタビライザを製造する方法。【選択図】図2
