PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the determination of a mis-firing of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A determination apparatus performs: comparing between a second threshold NEref2 and rotational variation ΔNEmg1 of a motor MG1 computed at timing prior to that of engine revolution variation ΔNEeng by 180 degrees in a rotation angle of a crank shaft (S220), if the engine revolution variation ΔNEeng is equal to or higher than a first threshold NEref1; and determining that the engine revolution variation ΔNEeng has reached or exceeded a threshold NEref caused by disturbance such as travelling on a bad road and the like, thus retaining a mis-fire counter C, if the rotational variation ΔNEmg1 is equal to or higher than a threshold NEref2, or determining, if the rotational variation ΔNEmg1 is less than the second threshold NEref2, that a mis-firing has possibly occurred to any of the cylinders of the engine, thus incrementing the mis-fire counter C. This makes it possible to improve the determination of a possibility of mis-firing occurring to any of the cylinders of the engine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】内燃機関の失火をより適正に判定する。【解決手段】エンジンの回転変動ΔNEengが第1閾値NEref1以上のときには、エンジンの回転変動ΔNEengよりクランクシャフトの回転角で180度だけ前のタイミングで演算されたモータMG1の回転変動ΔNEmg1と第2閾値NEref2とを比較する(S220)。回転変動ΔNEmg1が、第2閾値NEref2以上のときには悪路走行などの外乱によりエンジンの回転変動ΔNEengが閾値NEref以上に至ったと判断し、失火カウンタCを保持し、第2閾値NEref2未満のときにはエンジンのいずれかの気筒に失火が生じている可能性があると判断し、失火カウンタCをインクリメントする。これにより、エンジンのいずれかの気筒に失火が生じている可能性をより適正に判定することができる。【選択図】図4
