PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of cavitation and erosion, and improve propulsion performance.SOLUTION: A propulsion device of a ship 1 comprises: a port side propeller 10L and a starboard propeller 10R; a steering wheel 40A disposed on a ship width direction center C; and wing-cross sectional shape fins 43R, 43L disposed on both sides of the steering wheel 40A. When propeller diameter of each of the port side propeller 10L and the starboard propeller 10R is Dp, distance between a tip end of a propeller blade of the port side propeller 10L and a tip end of a propeller blade of the starboard propeller 10R in the ship width center C side, is longer than 0 m and equal to or shorter than 1.0 m. Rotation directions of the port side propeller 10L and of the starboard propeller 10R are external rotation directions rotating outward from teh ship width direction center C side on an upper part, and the fins 43R, 43L generate thrust in a forward advance direction by back wash of the port side propeller 10L and the starboard propeller 10R which rotate outward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
