PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint that has practically sufficient strength and durability, is light-weight and excellent in productivity, even in a case where a socket is integrated with a component for a suspension device or a component for an operation device by a carbon fiber thermoplastic resin.SOLUTION: A ball joint part 12 of a suspension arm includes a ball stud 20, a socket 40, a ball seat 30, and a plug 60 holding the ball seat 30 as well as a duct cover 70. The socket 40 is a carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composite material in which a ring 50 for caulking fixing the plug 60 is formed integrally with a sheet-like part 44 comprising a continuous carbon fiber and an injection molding part 46 comprising a discontinuous carbon fiber, continued to an arm 14 of the suspension arm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】ソケットを懸架装置用部品又は操行装置用部品と炭素繊維熱可塑性樹脂とにより一体構造とした場合でも、実用上十分な強度と耐久性を備えると共に、軽量で生産性の良好なボールジョイントを提供する。【解決手段】サスペンションアームのボールジョイント部12は、ボールスタッド20、ソケット40、ボールシート30、ダストカバー70に加えてボールシート30を保持するプラグ60を備え、ソケット40は、プラグ60を固定するカシメ用リング50を、サスペンションアームのアーム部14に連なる、連続炭素繊維によるシート状部44及び不連続炭素繊維による射出成形部46と一体に形成した炭素繊維強化熱可塑性樹脂複合材とする。【選択図】図2
