PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merging assist system having improved precision in predicting a behavior of a vehicle that travels on a merging destination lane.SOLUTION: An information acquisition unit 201 acquires information on a combination of types of vehicles V2 to V5 in addition to information on distances among the vehicles V2 to V5. Based on the distances among the vehicles dto dand the information on the combination of the types of vehicles, a prediction unit 202 predicts predictive distances Dto Damong the vehicles V2 to V5 at a merging point P2. Therefore, differences among the behaviors of the vehicles V2 to V5 that travel on a merging destination lane L2 derived from the combination of the types of vehicles can be coped with, and prediction in predicting the behaviors of the vehicles V2 to V5 that travel on the merging destination lane L2 can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
