PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire rubber composition excellent in both wear resistance and breaking elongation, and a pneumatic tire prepared therewith.SOLUTION: A tire rubber composition comprises a diene rubber, and cobalt or a cobalt compound. The diene rubber comprises a butadiene rubber of 5-70 mass%. A content of the cobalt or the cobalt compound is 0.01-5 pts. mass, as an amount of cobalt, relative to the diene rubber of 100 pts. mass.SELECTED DRAWING: None
