PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fault detection of wheel positions even if each wheel speed sensor is unable to grasp in which direction a vehicle travels, a forward direction or a reverse direction.SOLUTION: If the number of edges (or the number of teeth) of a gear is incremented on the basis of detection signals of wheel speed sensors of first to third wheels when a vehicle is stopped, the data is not used as learning data. It is thereby possible to erroneously detect wheel positions on the basis of fault learning data. Therefore, a wheel position detector can prevent the fault detection of the wheel positions even if the wheel speed sensors are unable to grasp in which direction a vehicle travels, a forward direction or a reverse direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
