PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a structure in which a steering column and a support bracket can be smoothly displaced forward at the time of a secondary collision.SOLUTION: A spring side lock part 40 of a biasing spring 32a is engaged with a lock piece 41 of a support bracket 17b in a state where the lock piece 41 is pressed downward. A pressing part 35a of the biasing spring 32a is engaged with a receiving surface of a steering column 4b in a state where upward pressing force is applied to affect the steering column 4b. At the time of a secondary collision, in the course of a stroke where the steering column 4b and the support bracket 17b can be displaced forward, when the biasing spring 32a is displaced forward and interferes with a gear housing 12 of a steering force auxiliary device 5, engagement between the spring side lock part 40 and the lock piece 41 is released, which allows the steering column 4b and the support bracket 17b to be displaced further forward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】二次衝突の際に、ステアリングコラムおよび支持ブラケットが前方に円滑に変位できる構造を実現する。【解決手段】付勢ばね32aのばね側係止部40は、支持ブラケット17bの係止片41に、係止片41を下方に押圧する状態で係合される。付勢ばね32aの押圧部35aは、ステアリングコラム4bの受面に、ステアリングコラム4bに上方への押圧力を作用させる状態で係合される。二次衝突の際に、ステアリングコラム4bと支持ブラケット17bが前方に変位可能なストロークの途中で、付勢バネ32aが前方に変位して、操舵力補助装置5のギヤハウジング12と干渉した場合に、ばね側係止部40と係止片41との係合が解除されて、ステアリングコラム4bと支持ブラケット17bがさらに前方に変位することが許容される。【選択図】図1
