PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a modified conjugated diene-based polymer which has a high ratio of 1,4-cis bonds and a high rate of modification, and provides a tire having excellent fuel-saving property, filler dispersibility, and abrasion resistance.SOLUTION: The method for producing a modified conjugated diene-based polymer comprises: a step (1) of obtaining a conjugated diene-based polymer by polymerizing a conjugated diene-based monomer by using a coordination polymerization initiator; and a step (2) of reacting the conjugated diene-based polymer with a compound A having 4 or more alkoxy groups bound to a silyl group, a tertiary amino group, and an ester group. Also provided is the method for producing a modified conjugated diene-based polymer where the coordination polymerization initiator comprises an organic compound of a lanthanum series metal element.
